Yesterday I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xssCfBiUds by Austin Shrock
I’m glad to see that more and people have the “weird” habit of NOT sticking their face to their smartphone 24/7.
Here are a few additional takeaways (Still, watch the video…)
1: Develop Your Inner Artist.
Art requires a certain “eye”. And that can be developed by sketching and doodling. With a pocket notebook you have a blank canvas for visual thinking.
And it works wey better than the S-Pen or the Apple pen…
2: Cultivate Mindfulness.
Disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with yourself. Journaling in a notebook encourages mindful reflection and deeper self-awareness.
Smartphones are made so that you look externally, a notebook forces you to look internally.
3: Boost Your Memory and IQ.
The act of writing by hand engages different parts of the brain, enhancing memory, retention and overall IQ.
It’s like a portable gym for your mind and countless neurological studies confirmed it.
4: Fuel Your Creativity.
The more ideas you write down, the more ideas you’ll come up with. And, by writing down your ideas, you automatically connect them.
In a short while, you’ll create a network of ideas for all of your projects.
5: Stay Organized, Analog Style.
Modern apps tend to have too many features, so they can stay competitive in the market. Pen and paper for you to organize yourself in an essetial way that is tailored to your specific needs.
This increases focus and reduces the sense of overwhelmness.
6: Free your mind.
From the moment I stopped doomscrolling, years ago, my mind felt a lot lighter and my thoughts clearer. Notifications are not a utility, but a drug.
You remove that drug and, like magic, you’ll feel lighter and more focused.
7: Nurture a Love for Writing.
As a storyteller and an entrepreneur, journals are an amazing way to collect ideas everywhere you are.
And, since everytime your write by hand you tap into the bio-feedback effect, your ideas stick longer in your memory.
8: Gratitude.
The feeling of gratitude helps you appreciate everything positive in your life.
It makes it easier for you to become white-pilled, focusing your attention on the positive.
9: Embrace Simplicity.
The world is getting more and more complex by the day, with all the new technologies that are becoming available. This can be overwhelming for the brain, creating stress out of thin air.
Having a pocket notebook can counteract this.
