Artist, are you feeling stuck? 10 ways to get unstuck

It’s normal, in your artistic journey, to feel stuck and uninspired.

Here are 10 ways to get unstuck.

1: Change Your Environment: A new setting can spark fresh ideas. If you can’t change the room or work outside, try changing your position.

2: Experiment: Try different styles or a completely different art form, even if you have no skills in it.

3: Be inspired by the great works: Visit museums or great artistic achievements of the past. If you don’t have access to majestic churches, you can visit them online.

4: Take a Break: Sometimes, stepping away from your art entirely can help you return with renewed perspective. A break can be a few minutes or an entire day.

5: Collaborate with Others: Working with others can lead to unexpected and inspiring outcomes. Only do small projects with others.

6: Keep a Sketchbook or a Note-taking App: Save your ideas the moment they come. Write them or record them; it doesn’t matter. If you keep this up, you’ll never run out of ideas.

7: Build a staircase of small goals: To reach the top of a big project, you need to do small steps. Build one step at a time and, slowly but surely, you’ll see your bog project come to life.

8: Meditation: Meditation and mindfulness are a form of relaxation for the brain. You don’t need any special technique (and most of them are B.S. anyway). Take any track you find online and follow it.

9: Challenge Yourself: Try something outside your comfort zone to push your creative boundaries. You should keep doing this until it becomes a habit.

10: Fail and don’t be afraid to create trash: Mistakes are part of the creative process. As it is producing art that is not as perfect as you can create it. It doesn’t matter. Even failures and trash lead you to excellence.
