Ever felt that creative flow where words and ideas just flow out of you? That’s the alpha brain state!
This state can be created quite easily (after some training).
Here’s how to induce it while you create your stories…
1: Create a Sacred Space.
Designate a specific area for writing. Make it comfortable, quiet, and inspiring. Remove distractions and add objects and plants that inspire tranquility.
Definitely avoid working in a bar or any other noisy place.
2: Mindfulness and Meditation.
Practice mindfulness to calm your mind and focus. Meditation can help you access a deeper level of creativity. Don’t overcomplicate this process.
Simply find a quiet place, set a timer and, for 15 minutes, close your eyes and focus on your breath and body.
3: Free Writing.
Let your thoughts flow without judging them. Don’t worry about grammar or structure. Just let the words flow.
Look at this as a writing warmup.
4: Nature Walks.
There are psychological and sociological studies that prove that taking a walk near water bodies or surrounded by trees helps relax your brainwaves.
If you live near nature, take advantage of it.
5: Music for Creativity.
Listen to classical or instrumental music. Avoid anything with lyrics (songs tend to put you in a Beta state, which is less effective for creative work).
Also, online, you’ll find many 432Hz and 528Hz tracks: while their effect is overestimated, they are still good for reaching the Alpha Brain State.
6: Slow, constant improvement.
Holding the Alpha Brain State for long takes practice. At first, you’ll quickly go in and out. But don’t worry: keep practicing.
After a while, holding entering that state will become second nature for you.
7: Yawn.
If you can yawn on command, do it. This is quick access to the Alpha state.
Extra tip: if you don’t have earrings, massage your earlobes while yawning for an improved effect.
